Swayambhunath

My first thoughts after arriving at Swayambhunath was that this place certainly was not wheelchair accessible. Stairs, anyone? I don't think you can build them any steeper.

Prayer flags are everywhere around this temple. Along the outside of the stupa are small shrines, each to which the devout pray in succession.

Prayer wheels connect the various shrines.

Further along are a few buddhas, smaller stupas and even more prayer flags.

Eventhough this place is known as the monkey temple, there were surprisingly few around.
